HEMP FAQ

What is Hemp-Derived CBD?

Our CBD products are made from industrial hemp plants grown on American farms. Cannabidiol (CBD), a constituent that naturally occurs in industrial Hemp, is just one of over 85 cannabinoids that is identified in the cannabis plant. Our oil is CO2 extracted resulting in a solvent free, pure extract.

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is one of over 60+ naturally occurring cannabinoid compounds found in Cannabis, an annual herbaceous flowering plant. CBD oil is derived from an organic substance formed in the plant’s secretions. Both marijuana and hemp are forms of cannabis. However, cannabis does not mean marijuana. Cannabis is the genus name and general umbrella term, under which all forms of marijuana and hemp fall. Until recently, delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, was the most well-known and studied cannabinoid due to its abundance in marijuana. However, as the second most prevalent cannabinoid in marijuana and the top non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in hemp, CBD has been gaining momentum in the scientific community and media.

Unlike THC, CBD does not cause any feeling of “high,” which contributes to its legalization across the United States. CBD does not typically have any immediate noticeable effect, though some customers have reported otherwise when using isolates.

CBD—is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits but does not make people feel “stoned” and can actually counteract the psycho activity of THC. The fact that CBD-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief

Does CBD Contain THC?

Most types of CBD oil also contain THC. However, the amounts of THC present in CBD products are so small that it’s highly unlikely this illegal cannabinoid would ever show up in a drug test.

To help explain, it’s important to understand the difference between full-spectrum and isolate CBD. Full-spectrum CBD contains the “full spectrum” of cannabinoids and terpenes naturally present in hemp oil. For instance, hemp oil contains THCV, CBN, CBD, and a variety of terpenes, such as limonene and beta-caryophyllene, that each have their own beneficial effects.

Isolate CBD, on the other hand, only contains the isolated CBD molecule. Therefore, people who use isolate CBD don’t benefit from the entourage effect, which is a synergistic phenomenon in which the combined constituents of full-spectrum hemp oil have an effect greater than the sum of their parts. In addition, scientific research has determined that isolate CBD loses efficacy at higher doses while full-spectrum CBD remains effective no matter how much you take.

Are your CBD products safe?

Yes. All our hemp crops are grown free of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, so our quality starts with our hemp plants. From the time our hemp oil is harvested to the manufacturing and shipping of our products, we test our hemp oil multiple times to ensure accuracy in potency information and to check for contaminants like pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, and mold, as well as cannabinoid content.

What`s the difference between this and the hemp products I buy in the grocery store?

Hemp products sold in stores are most often made with hemp seed oil, which can contain only trace amounts of CBD. Our Full Spectrum Hemp Oilis extracted from the stalk of specifically selected hemp cultivars, offering higher percentages of CBD by weight and additional nutritional benefits from the contents of our oil.

Exactly what`s the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?

Hemp is a member of the Cannabis Sativa family. Because Hemp and Marijuana both derive from the Cannabis Sativa family, they do share certain similarities; however. Cannabis contains a variety of different compounds called Cannabinoids, two of the richest and most dominant are Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD). Both Cannabinoids have shown to provide profound benefits to the human body. THC induces psychoactive effects (gets the user "high"), while CBD does not contain any psychoactive properties.

Where do you source your hemp and CBD from?

Our products are made from industrial hemp plants grown on American Farms.

What is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors located in the mammalian brain and throughout the main and peripheral nervous systems. There are 2 primary kinds of receptors in the ECS, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are mainly found in the main nerve system and brains of mammals, and CB2 are normally found in the peripheral anxious system. There are two main cannabinoids mammals produce- 2AG and Anandamide (called after the Sanskrit term "ananda" which translates to "peace"). For hundreds of millions of years every vertebrate on Earth has actually been equipped with this ECS, a vital system in the body, and it has been learnt about in the clinical and medical communities since the 1980`s.

Does cannabidiol (CBD) and other natural hemp-based constituents show up on a drug test? of marijuana. The CBD oil has to contain less than 3 percent.” With this statement, this drug testing expert confirms that it’s practically impossible to consume enough full-spectrum CBD to test positive on a drug test for THC. Other professionals at Health Link confirm that not a single CBD user who has come in for drug testing has tested positive for THC.

CBD is considered to be undetectable in saliva or urine tests, though there remains a rare instance that the small trace amounts of THC may be detected. All of our products comply with all regulations regarding minimal THC content, and our full-spectrum hemp oil contains less than 0.3% of THC by volume, as required by law. However, if you are subject to regular drug screening, we recommend you check with your employer.

While full-spectrum hemp oil has a variety of incredible benefits, it does contain trace amounts of THC. By law, however, CBD products must contain less than 0.3 percent THC to be sold on the general market.

Therefore, CBD products sold by reputable, law-abiding companies like contain less than a third of one percent THC, which is far too small of a concentration to show up on drug tests for this illegal cannabinoid. According to Scott Covington, the president of Health Link Drug Testing, “the cutoff for marijuana is 50 nanograms and in order to do that you’ve got to be under the influence of marijuana. The CBD oil has to contain less than 3 percent.”
